Layouts from 12/3

I am feeling an overwhelming urge to get caught up before this baby gets here. With the move, I am terrified of how behind I may actually get. Here is what I got done tonight:

Two more!

I finally finished the Dora LO that I started at the crop. Not my favorite LO ever, but it is done. I also did one page of what will be a 2 page LO about the strawberry farm.

Blog Hop

It's that time again...This week's challenge was stamping! I really must confess that I hate stamping. I own a lot of stamps, but I just don't want to clean them! I used a journaling stamp to create a spot for my sister to write about her little cutie!

Now hop on over to Shannon's blog!

Blog Hopping - Hidden Journaling

These are just a few examples of LOs using hidden journaling. The first one has a tiny piece of ribbon attached to a journaling sheet that is hidden behind our picture. The third LO is designed the same way.

The second LO is my favorite of the 3. You can see (and read) the journaling that is on the outside, but if you lift the flap there is hidden journaling that is more personal.

Rise to the Challenge Week 5 Results

I won! I can't believe that I won, but I won! Anyway, this was a tough competition with some amazing work from my fellow scrapbook friends. Here is my last entry and the challenge info.

1. Use a logo (Nickelodeon, Cheer, Kraft, Doritos, and several others)
2. Technique - Masking

3. Use a complete alphabet on your page, this could be stickers, thickers, rub-ons, diecuts, stamps..... As long as we can see from A to Z on there!
The 4 categories that you will be scored on are:

Overall LO Creativity (1-5)
Use of Technique (masking) (1-5)
Use of Required Element - Alphabet - (1-5)
Incorporation of the Logo - (1-5)
Page Coordination (1-5)

Total of 25 points

Logo - I was inspired by the cheer logo for my title.

Technique - Masking - I am including a picture so you can see what I did, but I used scotch tape to help make the lines. I I used a really old punch to make the swirls into a mask and used acrylics on it. I also used a negative space from chipboard shapes to create a mask of a cloud, which you see in white behind the "sugar" title because I thought it helped echo the white behind the letters in "Cheer."
Use a complete alphabet on your page - I think it is pretty obvious but I basically used the alphabet to create an acrostic about Rebecca.

Other random things I did - Used the beads from a broken necklace to make the flower in the corner of the frame. Hand stitched on the scalloped shapes and other papers.

Score - 23.67/25

Judge's Comments:

Submit this for publication!!! NOW!!
One of my favorite layouts of yours! Very bright and 'cheer'ful! Love all the extra touches, and the masking behind the title is very clever.
Perfect score from me! Absolutely adorable page! Love how you used the alphabet and logo and all your different masking techniques!

Rise to the Challenge Week 4 Results

Challenge's Required elements:

1. Must have a clock visible on your LO
2. Technique: Sewing or fake stitching
3. Lyrics from Time After Time in title or journaling

The 4 categories that you will be scored on are:

Overall LO Creativity (1-5)
Use of Technique (sewing) (1-5)
Use of Required Element - clock & Lyrics - (1-10)
Page Coordination (1-5)

Total of 25 points

My actual LO and comments:

1. Must have a clock visible on your LO - I have two (a tiny one on the left in the sand and the big one on the right)
2. Technique: Sewing - Stitched around the bottom piece of cs after I inked it.
3. Lyrics in title or journaling - Title is "Time after time"

I also want to point out that I stole sand from my daughter's sandbox to put at the bottom left corner. I also finally used the fishnet that Brad and I picked up about 4 years ago. LOL. All of the paper and flowers are from the K & Co. Seaglass collection that Brad just bought me for my bday! He picked them out by himself. So brownie points for Brad!

Score and Judge's Comments: 22.50/25

Amazing LO, love the shells, the colors everything.
Love all the elements you used! Very creative. I love this page. I wish there were more sewing on the page though.
Perfect LO! What a job of the seashells! I love them!! The picture is so cute and really is shown off as the center of the LO!!
Very cute! Great use of the fishnet! The only thing is the color of your floss for stitching seems off next to the net.
Very pretty LO. The orange flowers don't seem to match, but that may be the photo.

Rise to the Challenge - Week 3

THE CHALLENGE
Week 3 - Journal It!

Yes you read correctly, but I want Raw Journaling. I want to be moved by your journaling. Scrapping is about preserving memories the good, the bad and even the ugly. I know it's difficult to scrap the bad and ugly, but I have to say from my experience when I have scrapped these events in my life I feel some sense of healing, and empowerment like I have overcome what was hurting. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Additional Requirements:
1. Use some sort if office supplies
2. Use some household item to Stamp with {ie: lids, sponge, etc.} skies the limit.
3. Technique - Distressing can be any kind of distressing - List all/any you use

The 4 categories that you will be scored on are:

Overall LO Creativity (1-5)
Use of Technique (Distressing) (1-5)
Use of Required Elements - Office Supplies & Household Stamping - (1-5)
Journalling (1-10)

Additional Requirements:
1. Use some sort if office supplies - Used rubber bands for the lacing and staples on the journaling to hold the ribbon in place.
2. Use some household item to Stamp with {ie: lids, sponge, etc.} skies the limit. - I used the liner from my kitchen drawer. It is a mesh type material. I used it to stamp a sort of speckled pattern onto the paper that I used for my journaling.
3. Technique - Distressing - I sanded the background cs around the edges to make the white kind of show through. I also inked my pp to make the paper tearing show up more.

My Score- 23.67/25

Judges Comments:

Awesome LO!! The rubber band is super creative!! Awesome journalling too!!
Beautiful layout! Love the way you used the rubberbands on your layout. What a great page!
Beautiful page. I love how you journaled in a conversation form. Would have liked to see a little more distressing- like on the picture maybe.
Damn girl, you are on a roll. Another fabulous LO this week! My first percect score.
Great use of rubber bands and wonderful journaling
SO pretty! I love the rubber band . . very creative! Great journaling too!

Crop LOs

It took a while to get the titles and stuff added but here are some of my crop LOs.

RTTC Round 2 - Week 2

Materials Used:

4 Numbers or Symbols (Felt Thickers)
13 Letters (Felt Thickers)
2 Pieces of Ric Rac (Blue and Yellow - Lightly inked brown)
2 Orange Star Brads
12 Flowers (2 are sprites so they had premade centers)
1 Sandylion Stacked Flower(See middle of yellow flower...I took out the center and added a rhinestone which is added in later)
34 Skittles (Blue and Clear)
1 Yellow Ribbon
1 Orange Ribbon
1 Staple (on tag)
6 Rhinestones
2 hearts
1 Paperfish embellie for tag cut out of the pp (Seemed too much like an embellie not to count him, plus he matches Reba's bathing suit)
1 Tag for journaling (Made our of Core'dinations paper (Sanded and Torn)
1 "homemade" orange photo corner lightly inked brown

Technique - Sanding - I used Core'dinations Paper to make the background piece of paper. I lightly sanded all of the edges to bring the blue color through. I also did the same for the tag using Core'dinations Paper but in orange. If you aren't familiar with it you can check out this link http://www.busybeescrapbooking.com/summercorecardstock.html

Colors used - Blue (Reba's bathing suit, pp, flower, skittles,Core'dinations paper, Blue lace paper, etc), Orange (Flowers, Ribbon, Star Brads, orange fish in pp, orange corner cut from Core'dinations Paper), Brown (Felt letters and numbers, Brown Core'dinations paper)

My Score = 23.67/25

Judge's Comments =

Perfect score from me. Love everything about this.
Adorable page! Perfect colors for that pic!
Awesome LO!! Love the paper perfect for the technique!! GJ!!
Great job using 82 embellies! I love that you used the color core paper and sanded it. This is one of my favorite LO's of yours.
Love the sanding. The colors go really well together, including her cute bathing suit! Great use of elements.

Rise to the Challenge Round 2 - Week 1

These are pictures from a photo shoot that I did with my darling little niece at Easter. I tried to get some good pictures of her but she kept wiggling away.

The Challenge:

Play with 7's by using 7 of each of the following 7 things on your layout:

* 7 card stock papers
* 7 buttons
* 7 flowers
* 7 pattern papers
* 7 brads
* 7 letters or words in your title
* 7 techniques - Inking, paper tearing, sewing, punching, embossing, stamping, doodling

Photos are free....along with the items needed to complete your techniques.

These are the ONLY things you can use!! Good luck!!

Materials Used:

PP: Pink words, orange polka dot, yellow check, pink stripes, blue floral, blue with flowers, purple floral (most of these are flowers)

CS: Green, blue, dark blue, white, yellow, dark pink, and light pink

7 buttons - Used as centers for the flowers and stitched
7 brads - Used as the middle part of each butterfly
7 Letter title - Wiggles

Techniques used: Inking (all flowers are inked in white which is hard to tell...journaling strips are inked in pink), Paper tearing (journaling strips - sister will journal later), sewing (stitched all the buttons and the swirls), punching (pink swirls near butterflies), embossing (hard to tell but the light blue flower has polka dots embossed on it since it was just plain cs), stamping (stamped swirly patterns and hearts on the journaling strips since right now they are blank and I stamped the "wiggles" title in white ink), doodling (I doodled the outline of all of the flowers in blue and I doodle a line around the left edge of the picture in purple and a dashed line around the purple circle in purple as well). Distressing - Photo mats

My Score 21/25 Points!

Judges' Comments: I would have liked to see some kind of multi-colored PP to tie all the colors together. The bright green base cardstock and the blue photo mat don't really go with the pastels you used. I love the stitched swirls.
Adorable page! Love your use of stitching, sewing the buttons down really ties the whole flowers together.
Adorable pictures, love the sewing! I like how the matting of the photos make them stand out more!
Great Job!! Great use of the techniques! Good job on the sewing & doodling! I really like that flower brads that make up the bodies of the butterflies!
it's a cute lo, however I think if the back ground color was more tame, it would have flowed better with the page.
Love how you used the brads. Doodling was unclear, didn’t add to LO.
