Blog Hopping - Hidden Journaling

These are just a few examples of LOs using hidden journaling. The first one has a tiny piece of ribbon attached to a journaling sheet that is hidden behind our picture. The third LO is designed the same way.

The second LO is my favorite of the 3. You can see (and read) the journaling that is on the outside, but if you lift the flap there is hidden journaling that is more personal.

Be sure to click on the "Bloggy Hop Button" to your right to hop on over to see Devon's work!

Rise to the Challenge Week 5 Results

I won! I can't believe that I won, but I won! Anyway, this was a tough competition with some amazing work from my fellow scrapbook friends. Here is my last entry and the challenge info.

1. Use a logo (Nickelodeon, Cheer, Kraft, Doritos, and several others)
2. Technique - Masking

3. Use a complete alphabet on your page, this could be stickers, thickers, rub-ons, diecuts, stamps..... As long as we can see from A to Z on there!
The 4 categories that you will be scored on are:

Overall LO Creativity (1-5)
Use of Technique (masking) (1-5)
Use of Required Element - Alphabet - (1-5)
Incorporation of the Logo - (1-5)
Page Coordination (1-5)

Total of 25 points

Logo - I was inspired by the cheer logo for my title.

Technique - Masking - I am including a picture so you can see what I did, but I used scotch tape to help make the lines. I I used a really old punch to make the swirls into a mask and used acrylics on it. I also used a negative space from chipboard shapes to create a mask of a cloud, which you see in white behind the "sugar" title because I thought it helped echo the white behind the letters in "Cheer."
Use a complete alphabet on your page - I think it is pretty obvious but I basically used the alphabet to create an acrostic about Rebecca.

Other random things I did - Used the beads from a broken necklace to make the flower in the corner of the frame. Hand stitched on the scalloped shapes and other papers.

Score - 23.67/25

One of my favorite layouts of yours! Very bright and 'cheer'ful! Love all the extra touches, and the masking behind the title is very clever.
Perfect score from me! Absolutely adorable page! Love how you used the alphabet and logo and all your different masking techniques!

Rise to the Challenge Week 4 Results

Challenge's Required elements:

1. Must have a clock visible on your LO
2. Technique: Sewing or fake stitching
3. Lyrics from Time After Time in title or journaling

The 4 categories that you will be scored on are:

Overall LO Creativity (1-5)
Use of Technique (sewing) (1-5)
Use of Required Element - clock & Lyrics - (1-10)
Page Coordination (1-5)

Total of 25 points

My actual LO and comments:

1. Must have a clock visible on your LO - I have two (a tiny one on the left in the sand and the big one on the right)
2. Technique: Sewing - Stitched around the bottom piece of cs after I inked it.
3. Lyrics in title or journaling - Title is "Time after time"

I also want to point out that I stole sand from my daughter's sandbox to put at the bottom left corner. I also finally used the fishnet that Brad and I picked up about 4 years ago. LOL. All of the paper and flowers are from the K & Co. Seaglass collection that Brad just bought me for my bday! He picked them out by himself. So brownie points for Brad!

Score and Judge's Comments: 22.50/25

Amazing LO, love the shells, the colors everything.
Love all the elements you used! Very creative. I love this page. I wish there were more sewing on the page though.
Perfect LO! What a job of the seashells! I love them!! The picture is so cute and really is shown off as the center of the LO!!
Very cute! Great use of the fishnet! The only thing is the color of your floss for stitching seems off next to the net.
Very pretty LO. The orange flowers don't seem to match, but that may be the photo.

Rise to the Challenge - Week 3

THE CHALLENGE
Week 3 - Journal It!

Yes you read correctly, but I want Raw Journaling. I want to be moved by your journaling. Scrapping is about preserving memories the good, the bad and even the ugly. I know it's difficult to scrap the bad and ugly, but I have to say from my experience when I have scrapped these events in my life I feel some sense of healing, and empowerment like I have overcome what was hurting. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Additional Requirements:
1. Use some sort if office supplies
2. Use some household item to Stamp with {ie: lids, sponge, etc.} skies the limit.
3. Technique - Distressing can be any kind of distressing - List all/any you use

The 4 categories that you will be scored on are:

Overall LO Creativity (1-5)
Use of Technique (Distressing) (1-5)
Use of Required Elements - Office Supplies & Household Stamping - (1-5)
Journalling (1-10)

Additional Requirements:
1. Use some sort if office supplies - Used rubber bands for the lacing and staples on the journaling to hold the ribbon in place.
2. Use some household item to Stamp with {ie: lids, sponge, etc.} skies the limit. - I used the liner from my kitchen drawer. It is a mesh type material. I used it to stamp a sort of speckled pattern onto the paper that I used for my journaling.
3. Technique - Distressing - I sanded the background cs around the edges to make the white kind of show through. I also inked my pp to make the paper tearing show up more.

My Score- 23.67/25
